Run South-East London: Greenwich to Dulwich Loop

A 12 mile loop passing through Hilly Fields, Peckham Rye Park, Dulwich Park, Ladywell Fields and Greenwich Park.

Starting Point

This loop starts and finishes at Greenwich train station but other stations near the route include Elverson Rd, St Johns, Crofton Park, Honor Oak Park, Ladywell and Lewisham.

Details for this route can be found here and you can download the GPX file to follow the route directly from your watch.

Miles 1 & 2

Ravensbourne Park

The route starts at Greenwich train station. It heads uphill towards Point Hill before winding through some residential streets in Greenwich to reach Elverson Road Station. At the station there is a zig-zag bridge over the railway line which you can cross over to enter Ravensbourne park on the other side.

Peckham Rye Park

Miles 3 & 4

The start of mile 3 coincides with reaching the lovely Hilly Fields park. Run uphill through the park before veering to the right. There's a coffee shop at the top if you need a break and there is also a Parkrun here every Saturday!

At the top of the hill the route swoops downwards to join Adelaide avenue. Here the next mile covers residential streets which lead to Peckham Rye Park.

Miles 5 & 6

Lordship Lane

At Peckham Rye Park follow the wide, tree-lined path directly through the park to meet East Dulwich. The route then leads to Lordship Lane. This is the heart of East Dulwich with lots of cafes, pubs and shops that offer an easy-going vibe. It's a perfect spot to spend a Sunday morning. The route follows Lordship Lane in the direction of Dulwich Park.

Miles 7 & 8

Saint Augustine's Church

Dulwich park offers wide paths for both runners and cyclists and is a great park to explore if you want to add on some miles to this route. This route skirts the edge of the park before exiting back onto Lordship Lane. The next mile then features a small but steep trail up to One Tree Hill where you can take in some views of the area.

The path then heads down the other side of the hill and passes Saint Augustine's church. From here follow the steps down to meet the road and pass Honor Oak Station.

Miles 9 & 10

These are probably the greenest miles of the route! First run through Blythe Hill Park. On a clear day the views out across the city are hard to beat and make the run uphill to the park worthwhile. The route crosses straight through the park and quickly meets another green space - Ladywell Fields.

After running through Ladywell Fields for about half a mile you will cross the railway track by following a spiral-shaped ramp. From here you will see Ladywell Track - an ideal place to get some speed work in on another day! Continue heading through the park in the direction of Ladywell Station.

Park Walk

Miles 11 & 12

The final stretch passes briefly through Lewisham and then up Lewisham Hill towards Blackheath. Run over the heath and join General Wolfe Road. The route then heads down the very steep Crooms Hill. On your right is a discreet entrance into Greenwich Park called Park Walk. Run down the edge of Greenwich Park before ending back in Greenwich and finishing at the train station.
